In-process filtration
Dust collection that protects your people and your production area, from welding fumes to powder handling.
In-process filtration captures dust and fumes where they are created: at the machine, the grinding station, the welding bench or the mixing line. Extraction arms and hoods carry the air to a dust collector so the dust never reaches the operator's breathing zone.
The collector itself relies on reverse pulse jet cleaning. Diaphragm valves fire compressed air into the bags or cartridges at set intervals or on differential pressure, so the filter media stays permeable, the extraction speed at the hood stays constant and the workplace exposure limits are respected.
Typical installation
- A compact header tank or manifold on the collector
- Goyen or Mecair diaphragm valves matched to the filter element count
- Pilot valves in an enclosure, ATEX certified where combustible dust is present
- A sequencer with differential pressure control to limit compressed air consumption

Questions
What does in-process filtration mean?
It is dust collection inside the production process, aimed at protecting operators and equipment, rather than at treating the exhaust released to the atmosphere.
Do I need ATEX components?
If the dust is combustible, for example aluminium, wood, sugar or many organic powders, then yes. We supply ATEX certified pilot valve enclosures and can deliver header tank systems in an ATEX configuration.
How do I lower the compressed air consumption?
Switch from timer cleaning to on-demand cleaning based on differential pressure, check the pulse duration and make sure the tank pressure is not set higher than needed.
