Mecair pilot valves and coils, PV, PVM, ESL28 and CP part numbers
The pilot valve is the small solenoid that triggers a Mecair pulse valve. When a valve stops firing while the controller output is healthy, the pilot, its coil or its connector is usually the cause, and each is available as a separate part number.
Family: PV / ESL / CP (Mecair)
Part numbers
- PV-220-50: Pilot solenoid valve, 220 V AC 50 Hz
- PV-24-DCX: Pilot solenoid valve, 24 V DC
- PVM06-24-DC: PVM06 pilot solenoid valve, 24 V DC
- ESL28: ESL28 pilot solenoid coil
- CP1-4: Pilot valve repair kit
- PLG9: Connector plug
- Connector + LED: DIN 43650 form-B connector with LED indicator
How to select
Coil or complete pilot
A burnt coil can be replaced on its own with ESL28, which is cheaper and faster than a complete pilot. Replace the whole PV or PVM pilot when the valve seat leaks or the armature sticks.
Check the voltage on the coil label
PV-220-50 is 220 V AC 50 Hz, PV-24-DCX and PVM06-24-DC are 24 V DC. The coil label carries the voltage, and fitting the wrong one is the most frequent cause of a pilot that hums or burns out.
Do not forget the connector
A DIN 43650 connector with an LED indicator makes fault finding on a filter roof visible at a glance: you can see which output actually energised without a meter.
Frequently asked questions
My Mecair valve does not fire. Is the pilot the problem?
Check in this order: controller output present, connector and cable intact, coil energising, then the pilot itself. If the coil pulls in but no air reaches the valve, the pilot needs the CP1-4 kit or replacement.
Is ESL28 the coil only?
Yes, ESL28 is the solenoid coil. The pilot valve body is ordered separately as PV or PVM.
Pilot, coil or connector
A non-firing Mecair valve is usually the pilot, the coil or the connector, not the valve body. This table shows which part covers which failure.
| Part number | What it is | Supply | Order when |
|---|---|---|---|
| PV-220-50 | Complete pilot solenoid valve | 220 V AC 50 Hz | Pilot passes no air although the coil energises |
| PV-24-DCX | Complete pilot solenoid valve | 24 V DC | Same failure on a 24 V DC system |
| PVM06-24-DC | PVM06 pilot solenoid valve | 24 V DC | PVM06 pilot bodies |
| ESL28 | Solenoid coil only | As marked on the coil | Coil burnt out, pilot body still good |
| CP1-4 | Pilot valve repair kit | - | Servicing an existing pilot instead of replacing it |
| PLG9 | Connector plug | - | Damaged or missing plug |
| Connector + LED | DIN 43650 form-B connector with LED | - | You want a visible firing indication per valve |
