The cleaning cycle
Dust-laden air passes through the filter media and leaves a dust cake on the outside. As the cake builds up, differential pressure rises and airflow drops. A controller fires a pilot valve, which opens a diaphragm pulse valve on the header tank. The tank releases a short burst of compressed air into the blow tube, the shock wave flexes the media, and the dust cake falls into the hopper.
